Mad ABC is a game for very young children who are beginning to recognize a few letters, such as the round one, o, and the dotted one, i. When they have learned most of the other letters by playing with Mad ABC, they can try Mad Cat. It shares the pictures and animations of Mad ABC, but its purpose is to teach how letters combine to make words.
There are two versions of the game: for the iPad and the Macintosh desktop.
The iPad version, shown here, works only on iOS up to 11. It does not work on iOS12. Click here to see it in the iTunes store, where you can buy it for $1.99 and download it to your iPad.
The free Mac desktop version should be available soon.

So here is a picture and three gray letters. If you find one of the letters among the six blue ones and tap it, the corresponding gray letter turns black. When the three gray letters have turned black, the picture becomes animated: the flying bat morphs into a baseball bat.
Once the three letters under the picture are black, you can replay the animation by tapping the picture. Young children love to do it.

This shows what happens when you tap the gray half circle at bottom left: the gray letters disappear and the game becomes tougher. Well, not much tougher, since tapping the six blue letters will display c, a and r and animate the car anyway.
When you tap the blue abc button above the picture, you reach the contents page below.
